Meet Our Bombshells - April S

When is the right time to do a session? If you're reading this, the answer is now. Now is the time to do a session. Celebrate you, invest in you, give yourself a gift unlike any other. It was definitely the right time for April.

Let's get to know April. Over the past couple years this #boymom has celebrated some wonderful milestones, she married her soulmate, watched her baby boy(19) graduate from high school and head off to college and celebrated 50 years of life. She is also a dedicated nurse and just like for many of us, this past year has been a challenge. Of course, being on the front lines has been especially tough.

Before we get too far, here's what we like to call before and after photos.

Q: Why was this the right time for you to do a session? What was your motivation or reason for booking a session?

A: My motivation for booking a session was the realization that I am good enough in my own skin. I am the person I am, regardless of the stretch marks and the extra pounds and the scars. Learning to accept me for me and this was the way to put pen to paper if you will. The proof is in the proofs!!

Q: What was the favorite part of your session?

A: I’m not gonna lie, it was nice to be pampered!!! But the attention to detail from Luana during the make up & hair session- Michelle making sure my stockings were equal, my straps were adjusted properly, my hair was in the right place, the lighting was right- all of those detail things were so important to the outcome. Really, the whole experience was the best part ❤️

Q: Has this session changed anything for you? Tell me about it.

A: Once completing the session, my level of confidence was bolstered. I felt really good about accomplishing this crazy pipe dream that I had set for myself. But once I saw the proofs;I was blown away! I remember saying to Shawn, where did that jaw line come from? Who is that? My overall daily confidence has grown. I feel good about me!!

Q: What was the best part of the entire experience? Would you change anything about it?

A: Would not change a thing! It was amazing. I wish I had done it sooner, but in reality I wasn’t ready before now. Me being able to experience it fully would not have happened until this time in my life.

Q: What would you say to someone who's thinking about doing a boudoir session?

A: Just do it! If you wait until you lose that extra 5 pounds or until you have the money to do it or you have a better tan you’ll never do it. Just jump right in! It’s so worth it!!

Q: Is there anything else you would like to share?

A: I am grateful for the love and support from all of the Bombshells in the Couture Black Lounge Facebook Group! I’ve referred several of my friends and my daughter-in-law to the lounge. The motivation and daily affirmations that those in the group provide are sometimes just what I need to hear!!

Thank you!! Thank you for enhancing me, yes ME, to this AMAZING BOMBSHELL!!!! I still can’t believe this is really me!! My husband said “this is what I see every day!” ( he is sweet) This whole experience is just as all the others gush about and more. Turning 50 was tough this year for a lot of reasons, turning 50 for one, being a nurse in the midst of COVID, my youngest graduating high school and starting college, my body image issues over my plus size are just among the few. This experience has melted the negativity away and more. There’s a confidence in me I’ve not felt before. Thank you so much!!! I can’t wait til my next shoot!!!
