Q: All of the women on your site must be models, there is no way I could like that... or can I?
A: Guess what? None of the women on the website aren't models either. Each one of them asked the same question at some point too. Most of them even said out loud to me "There is no way you can make me look like that." The thing is, I've been doing this a long while and I'm flattered that you think all of the women are models, that means I'm doing my job really well. That job is knowing how to pose and light you to bring out your beast and create incredible images just for you.
Q: But the photographer's a guy. Isn't that weird?
A: Hi, my name is Shawn, I'm a guy and I'm also a professional photographer which really isn't at all weird. Honestly, my gender doesn't matter and neither does yours if I'm being brutally honest. My job and passion is to create beautiful images. I just happen to be really good at creating beautiful images with the human body. The bonus to that, is it also allows that person to see themselves in a new way which is pretty damn incredible. Notice I said person, I also offer what's commonly known as dudoir. More about that later.
BOOKING THE SESSION
Q: How far in advance do I need to book my session?
A: If you have a specific event or special day that you want your images for, book as soon as you know. You will need about 8 weeks between your shoot date and product delivery. That being said, days book up pretty fast, don't wait to contact us and get your date booked.
Q: What's included in my session?
A: Each session includes a pre-session consult, professional hair & makeup in studio for your session, 90 minutes in front of the camera, a surprise gift and a private image reveal and ordering session. Images are not included in the session fee of $249.
Q: Where does the shoot happen?
A: Most shoots take place in our studio in North Reading, MA. We have different sets including a bed, couch, mirrors, chairs and other things that we use for posing. However, we have also done on location shoots and hotel rooms. If you have an idea other than our studio, let's chat about it.
Q: What is this pre-session thing you keep mentioning?
A: The pre-session is an important step of the process for you and us. For you, we want you to be as comfortable as possible the day of your session. The pre-session allows you to see the studio, where it is and how it's laid out. It also allows you to meet Shawn, your photographer. He will ask all kinds of questions to get to know you and your vision for the session. He will also guide and help with wardrobe choices. It's really a chance to discuss everything about your session in person. Clients leave the pre-session feeling ready and energized for their upcoming session and you will too.
Q: Who provides the wardrobe?
A: Part of the fun for so many women is discovering lingerie. If you love lingerie and have a dresser full, you are among the few that have already discovered how much fun it can be! You'll want to bring at least 3 outfits with you and not to worry, we will guide you, help and provide suggestions at all price points. And we do have a client closet to supplement your wardrobe if we need to.
Q: I know NOTHING about lingerie! How do I know what I should get?
A: Not to worry! We got you! We will review all of this in detail at your pre-session. But in the mean time, look for things that you like. Look for things that make you feel sexy and confident.
Q: What happens the day of my session?
A: Plan on being in the studio for 3 - 4 hours. When you arrive, we welcome you and chit chat for a few minutes. You'll meet your hair & makeup artist, we will take a look at your wardrobe and then you get to relax for little while while you get glammed up.
Next, you'll get into your first outfit. Don't worry, we will help you choose it. You'll get into your first pose. Generally it is the same for everyone since it is flattering for every body type and fairly easy. Then comes your first back of camera peek. This is generally where any nerves that are left melt away and you see yourself like you are for the first time.
The remainder of the session, Shawn will take you through poses and if your lucky, he'll even demonstrate them for you. The glam team will refresh your makeup, make sure your hair is just right and help with any wardrobe needs including helping with shoes, garters, laces and anything else that needs some attention.
Q: How long before I get to see the final images?
A: It takes about 10-15 business days to complete your images. Some times of year, like November and December it could take a little longer just because of the volume.
THE BIG QUESTION, HOW MUCH DO YOU PHOTOSHOP?
A: The only thing that is done to finalize the images is color correction and skin smoothing. We will remove any blemishes and smooth the color and texture. We will also remove any indents or creases that are created due to posing or wardrobe. We will not, and I say not reshape or reform your body. If you're looking for us to make you look like your a different size than you are by digitally changing the image, then we are not the studio for you. We will pose and light you to show your true beauty.
With all that being said, if you have scars, tattoos or other things that you are concerned about, let's talk about it. Although it's not our favorite thing to say remove a knee replacement scar, we also won't argue and understand if it's something you want removed in post production. Same goes for tattoos, but it's something we will have to talk about and it may incur additional fees.
Q: How much should I expect to spend on the session and images?
A: The cost of the session is $249, this includes pre-session consult, professional hair & makeup in studio, 1.5 hours of shooting and a private image reveal and ordering session. At your ordering session, you will see anywhere from 40-60 finished images that you may not want to part with. You choose how you want to display your images from digitals to black books to large wall art. Our packages start at $699 with an average spend of $1900. We do offer payment options through PayPal Credit.
